Web Related ScriptsScript Search is a large CGI and Script resource which includes things like Applescript, C/C++, java, javascript, perl PHP/FI, tcl, shell, and VB. Matt's Script Archive and the Script Archive FAQ contain many perl CGI scripts and the FAQ explains how to set them up and troubleshoot any problems. Selena Sol's Script Archive is a collection of CGI scripts written by Selena Sol and Gunther Birznieks have written. The scripts come with no promises or guarantees because the original intent was not to distribute code, but to share ideas. Scott Wimer's Script Archive is a growing collection of public domain perl scripts, many of which are CGI scripts. Hal Eason's Script Archive contains a form processor, a searchable database, and an online html editor as well as linking to his support mailing list. The perlWWW site at uci.edu is an index of many perl programs geared towards the web. Some of the software include application, converters, development, graphics, utility, and browser perl scripts. Dale Bewley's perl scripts and links site includes several perl CGI scripts dealing with image conversion, cataloging, and display. General PerlTom Christiansen's perl home page is the definitive perl page and includes the latest software release as well as links to the FAQs, reference guide, about the language, support, training, mailing lists, and the Perl Journal. The Perl Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to making Perl more useful for everyone. They support the creators, developers, maintainers, and users of perl. The Institute acts as a coordinating and communication center to connect people, information, ideas and resources. They plan on providing such services as perl bug tracking, job and applicant listings, and training information. The Perl Journal is THE refernece magazine for perl programmers. The magazine has informative articles and code snippets useful to any perl programmer whether programming for the web or system administration. Perl4 HTML man page, formatted by Robert Stockton, is an indexed HTML version of the perl(1) man page for version 4 of perl. It also includes a searchable index. The University of Florida Perl Archive includes a hypertext version of the comp.lang.perl.misc FAQ and a number of scripts in the UF archive. Yahoo's perl page includes links to the perl FAQs, several large perl script archives, extensions, reference material, and porting information. The perl master index of constructs lists all of the perl constructs and explains what each does or is for. Other Scripting LanguagesThe University of Cambridge has online course material for shell scripts and awk that discusses basic shell programming techniques and syntax. UNIX Shell Programming Bourne and Korn Shells is part of a course offered by RMIT. The document assumes that the reader is already familiar with non-programming aspects of the sh and ksh shells, such as: environment variables, history manipulation, command substitution, pattern matching and wild-cards, and resource files.
